Google Analytics Blows my mind!

I have just installed a new Drupal module for this site that means that i can now collect information about how people use the site, what pages they visit, how long they spend there.

It does feel rather strange that i have so much information, I am now the Benevolent Dictator of my own website and Google Analytics is my secret police. You see i even get to know which city people who visit my site are accessing it from, so i can say that today 7 people from London viewed my site, 5 people from Bristol and 3 people from the USA, but more than that I can tell you that today someone from North Metro, in the state of Georgia sent 28 seconds looking at the 'I need a producer' post below. Whilst someone in Cape Town, South Africa spent a whole 5 minutes 11 seconds on the site (roughly 828.36% longer than the average length of site visit of 34 seconds) not only that but they checked out 3 different pages.

I bring this to your attention dear readers, Ladies and Gentlemen of my web-based public, because just about every site you visit is collecting this kind of information. Just look next time you visit a web page at the little line of text at the very bottom left of your browser that changes rapidly as a page loads and if you are sharp eyed enough you will see 'http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js' flash before you.

Now whisper sweetly to me through pursed red lips:
