Performance

I have been working as a performer since 2005, it's what I always wanted to do, I love performing my own work and getting involved in other people's shows. I like bleeding edge cabaret, good, honest boundary smashing performance, thought provoking live art, and subversive theatre. I also do corporate gigs and weddings.

Most of my work has been on stage and I am looking to get more experience of working in TV, Radio and Film, but then who isn't?

If you have a project in any of these areas then get in touch. I'm always open to new projects and collaborations, I am based in Bristol, UK, but I'm happy to travel for interesting jobs.

Last Night Goat Island Performed in my Dreams

The Lastmaker: Photo by Goat IslandThe Lastmaker: Photo by Goat Island

What happens when you spend three consecutive nights in the company of a group like Goat Island, for the first two watching their last show and on the last attending their goodbye from which you must say goodbye for a time to make a call to say goodbye for a long time only to return to find that someone is saying goodbye from the stage to some who is dead and this fits so painfully perfectly that your heart aches, is shot through, then sings and you cry?

My Back Stole My Life

Last Friday my lower back went into spasm. I was doing nothing more demanding than leaning over my kitchen's work surface to chisel out a couple of tiles, when a feeling of intense muscular cramp burst out from my spine, leaving me propped on my elbows unable to support my own body weight. Cue an hour on the floor, frozen peas, hot water bottles, 10 meters of home made strapping wound around my lower abdomen so i could stand unaided, a painful few hours as Tom Marshman's Captain (the rum helped) and a night cap of morphine sulphate.

Blast From The Past

This is a video of the very first thing that I ever devised way back in late 2005. The other guy in it is Steve Ryan and the camera man is Alan Huge Shame, collectively known as The Licensees. It was filmed in the back room of the infamous 157 and it's called the Dinner Set, I hope you enjoy.

Bye Bye Moustache!

It was time to say goodbye.

  • @andytfield is this what you mean? For me context is the world around and outside the work: its time & place.
  • @andytfield Yes critics should be looking at the work's meaning & the artist's intent rather than just the machinery which carries it.
  • @Actionherolive elevate those legs and let the blood rush back down.
  • @hannahnicklin anything at all by Grant Morrison which you haven't read yet: The Invisibles, The Filth, Seaguy, Seven Soldiers of Victory
