I will be showing some new material from the two new sections of the 10 Ways to Die on Stage Trilogy at Pilot. It's happening at the Custard Factory in Birmingham on the 28th of August. Get yourself along to see me at me weirdest.
I come on stage and start talking and then successfully attempt time travel in order to prevent myself from having such a disappointing adolescence. I will then perform the words and actions of John Arbuckle, from the Garfield comic strip, only without Garfield. Arbuckle is a kind of insane pathetic non-hero. This material is very dry, yet amusing.
The second part will contain a bit of a monologue on the relationship between memory and life, how time appears to slow at the moments of greatest fear, and what happens when time and memory start to fall apart, there will be actions that happen after their consequences and visa versa. My speech will slip out of sync with movements of my mouth.
PILOT Nights
PILOT Nights are a motley assortment of new, untested shorts from some of the UK’s most exciting theatre companies. Each last between 10 and 20 minutes and together present a glorious mix of comic, touching and peculiar performance. The bar is open all night and musicians play in the intervals. The audience are invited to get a drink, enjoy the show and stick around to let the performers know exactly what they thought.
